PREFACE

The play, Cat on a Hot Tin Rood is a play with many problems which contribute to a mood/atmosphere that consists of dramatic emotions and sarcasm; which I believe the characters achieve because they are scared of the eventual outcomes of their individual problems.  There is also a lot of negative energy, either of how the characters feel about themself or of the other characters; thus creating lots of tension during the play.

From these concepts I decided to create a set design that seemed slightly off balance.  There design will appeal to the audience because the furniture and props will be subtle and normal, while the rest of the set is un-proportional adding to a more frustrated and tense atmosphere for the characters and their never ending complaints and problems.
